A system of mobile furniture and aerial structures with the aim of configuring multiple scenarios, depending on the needs and desires of the different realities that will animate the space
We therefore focused on making an outdoor area central, adjacent to the community point, with proportions closer to a human-sized space, to a 'court'. A place for dialogue and relations, a connection between the community point, the future food area and the entire block, with spaces designed for reception, sociability, guaranteeing an adequate level of intimacy and protection.
Magnete was born in the 'Adriano Nuova' district, characterised by large spaces and urban settlements. The project fits into this context as a new horizontal and open centre.
The proposed project responds to the need to make the Adriano Community Centre a welcoming, inclusive, attractive, stimulating, multifunctional environment that fosters the relationship and social cohesion of the different publics that will inhabit it. A place that will become a reference point for the entire neighbourhood, with a clearly recognisable and multifaceted identity that will foster a sense of belonging, community and identification, contributing to social wellbeing. Our intervention stems from studies and research on environmental and architectural psychology, on the interaction between man and the environment. Objects, shapes, colours, lights and materials have been chosen on the basis of this research and considering the needs, desires and requirements of those who will live and animate the space.
The project presents itself to the neighbourhood with a new language: fields of colour and soft shapes that expand in all directions from the courtyard to attract and welcome. In the outdoor space we have proposed areas that are at the same time resting and play areas but also areas equipped for outdoor performances, they will change appearance and function depending on the time of day.
The set-up of the community point was designed and realised with modular and mobile furniture elements with the aim of configuring multiple scenarios, depending on the needs and desires of the different realities that will animate the space. These elements are inspired by the backstage of a theatre, usually hidden, which allows for different scene changes during the performance.
In the project, the "stage" elements become the protagonists of the space: a system of benches and tables, which when assembled become a stage, bookcases, which can be aligned and act as a partition wall, a mobile room, with multiple functions, and finally an aerial structure designed to accommodate lights, scenery and various fittings.
Four elements have been created with which to build infinite scenographies: the stage, the aerial system, the bookcases and the moving-room.
Two benches and a table, they slide one towards the other.
The two benches are locked to the table via hook-joints hidden in the table.
This object is conceived as an open system, its modular elements can become multiple things, such as, through a sophisticated but at the same time simple fastening system, a large stage, or 3 smaller ones, a rectangle but also a long platform useful for shows and other types of events.
The individual elements become tables and benches and can be used for shows, workshops, events, markets and many other scenarios. They can also be taken outside for outdoor events.
A micro-architecture on wheels that moves around the cultural centre to become a dressing room, cloakroom, exhibition space, technical space, temporary storage, small lounge, party room and much more.
A system of bookcases on wheels with multiple functions, these can be moved within the space, and in addition to being bookcases and containers of objects they can be a display wall with a magnetic surface, a projection wall or a wall that can become a room divider, a room or the backdrop for a performance.
